Musically Speaking

A drummers perspective on life

Pink Floyd or mellow trance-techno

Just a quick thought for the day. I was trying to think of a musical style/genre that would fit my current mood and mindest. About the only thing I could think of was some sort of mellow, foggy style of music. The first thing that came to mind was some of the laid back Pink Floyd work or some sort of slow techno or trance style music that just sort of floats along with nothing major ever going on in the duration of the song.

This cold I have is absolutely whipping my butt and between the cold, stuffy head and cold medication taken to combat the miserable effects I feel like my head is stuffed with wool. Almost as if I was just completely wasted drunk, only I have not had a drop of any sort of alcohol in quite some time.

Anyhow, last night I listened to the first track from a Dennis Chamber’s album called “Outbreak”. I know he is a legendary drummer and all of that, but I have never really listened to a ton of his stuff. I have to say that I was pretty much blown away by how completely crazy and complex his drumming is. What a talent. When I was listening to the first part of the song though, I do admit that I had some flashbacks of other typical “drummer” albums where it is made up of some insanely awesome drumming throughout a bunch of songs that are completely garbage. However the song turned the corner and became enjoyable to listen to.

I just figured I would share my musical mood with you and get a fresh post up here on the site. My goal is to have a bit of content going so that eventually I will transfer my current main blog to this site and “Musically Speaking” will become my main blog.
